This page contains instructions on how to install the Cylitic Security agent on Windows and Mac systems.


Cylitic Security provides its services through a single installation program. To get started, please download the Cylitic Security agent using the link from the welcome email that you have from welcome@cylitic.com, then follow these steps for Windows and Mac systems.

For Windows Systems


1.    Using an administrative account, click the installer link from your welcome email. The link will open a web browser and the installer will download. When the installer has finished downloading, click the “Run” button displayed on your web browser or open your download folder and double click the installer from there.  



2.    If you are presented with a screen asking if you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, it means that your account does not have administrative privileges. To continue with the installation, enter the administrator’s password. 



3.    The installer will begin running. This process will take approximately 90 seconds.  

4.    When the installation is complete, you will see the following dialog box:



For Apple Mac Systems


For macOS users running the latest operating system “Big Sur”


1.    Using the Mac system that you want to install the agent on, click the link from your welcome email. This will open a new browser window and download the installer.



2.    Execute the downloaded file by double-clicking on the installer from your browser or from your Downloads folder. The installer will open and begin. Click “Continue” to start the process. 


3.    Select “Install”.


4.    You will be prompted for your password. This is the local password that you sign into your computer with. Enter this now and click “Install Software”. 


5.    The Installation will begin.


6.    You will now see the following warning. Click “Open Security Preferences” to continue.  


7.    The Security & Privacy screen will open. Click the padlock in the bottom left-hand corner of this window, and then enter your password again. 


8.    Click the “Allow” button which will allow “CylanceES” to properly protect your system. You will then close this window by clicking the red “X” button at the top left of the window. 


9.    The installation is now complete. Click the “Close” button to finish.


For macOS users running any operating systems other than “Big Sur”


1.    Open the installation link that was sent to you on the macOS system that you want to install Cylitic on. A web browser will open, and the installer program will begin to download.


2.    Execute the downloaded file by double clicking on the installer from your browser or from your Downloads folder. The installer will open and begin. Click “Continue” to start the process. 


3.    On the next page, click “Install”. 


4.    You will be prompted for your password. This is the local password that you sign into your computer with. Enter this now and click “Install Software”.


5.    The installation will begin.


6.    You will now see the following warning related to a system extension being blocked. Click “Open Security Preferences” to continue.  


7.    Click on the padlock in the bottom left-hand corner of the window to make the necessary changes. 


8.    Enter the same password that you use to log onto the computer. 


9.    Click “Allow” to ensure that the security software can run on your system and then close the Security & Privacy window. 


10.    The installation is now complete. Click the “Close” button to finish.
